If you’ve seen the critically acclaimed American war film, Red Tails, or if you’re a self-proclaimed history buff (especially when it comes to World War II) you probably already know the inspiring story behind the Tuskegee Airmen.

To those who are unfamiliar or who are eager to know more, PSEG’s employee resource groups PSEG VETS, American Association of Blacks in Energy and Minority Interchange, invite you to attend a rare opportunity to learn how the Tuskegee Airmen changed American history – directly from the man who lived it.

George Watson, one of the only remaining Tuskegee Airmen, is a special guest of the co-sponsored lunch n’ learn on Thursday, Nov. 6, in general office conference room 101. You are welcomed to join in person or by phone.

The lunch n’ learn is this year’s celebratory event leading up to Veteran’s Day, which is a day of remembrance to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Watson, a New Jersey resident, will share tales from his days of a Tuskegee Airmen.

During World War II, these African American U.S. Army Air Forces fliers proved that if given equal opportunity and training, African American soldiers could distinctly serve in combat beyond just a supportive role. Their heroism and service during World War II significantly contributed to the racial integration of the U.S. armed services in future years.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about their story.

If you are interested in attending in person or via teleconference please contact the AABE NJ Chapter at Newjersey@aabe.org to register.
