David Owens, Chair of the Legislative Issues and Public Policy Committee, led the discussion with other panelists: Sabrina Campbell, Richard Campbell, Morry Davis, Berdell Knowles and Frank Stewart. The presentation gave an overview of the legislation and its impact on low income and fixed income communities. Specific provisions in the bill around climate change, renewable energy and energy efficiency were also discussed. Additionally, participants learned how the AABE Policy Principles aligned with the legislation.
Stated one participant, the webinar “was extremely helpful from both a professional and personal perspective. It was a wealth of information presented about complex topics in a very understandable and mentally digestible manner.” The organization will continue to follow these important issues as the Senate begins to take action and develop legislation of its own. “We definitely plan to offer future webinars”, said Frank Stewart, President and COO.
