The North Carolina Chapter of the AABE Awards Scholarships

The NC Chapter of AABE has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending college in the Fall of 2016 and majoring in an energy-related field. Listed below is information on each scholarship recipient:

·        Eden Cabrera is a student at Sampson Early College High School in Clinton, NC. Eden will be attending NC A&T State University or NC State University and majoring in Chemical Engineering.

·        Isaac Jeans is a student at Salisbury High School in Salisbury, NC. Isaac will be attending Carnegie-Mellon University in the Fall and majoring in Chemical Engineering.

·        Jethro Ssengonzi is a student of Green Hope High School in Cary, NC. Jethro will be attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the Fall as a Meyerhoff Scholar and majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

·        Rohith Yenumula is a student of Green Hope High School in Cary, NC. Rohith will be attending NC State and majoring in Electrical Engineering.

 

The AABE scholarship recipients were recognized during the 20th Annual African-American Network (AAN) – Carolinas Scholarship Fund Gala along with the AAN scholars. Jethro Ssengonzi attended the gala and was recognized during the program.
