FVSU Chapter History

The chapter was officially chartered by AABE on April 16, 2008 during the 31st National Conference in Houston, Texas.

On November 12, 2008 the AABE Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Student Chapter held its first meeting at FVSU's Computer Technology and Math Building. FSVU faculty Drs. Aditya Kar and Haixin Wang, chapter coordinator Dr. Isaac Crumbly, and Atlanta chapter President Cordell Carter spoke to the students about the importance of energy in today's economy, engineering and AABE over pizza and soda.

The chapter's elected officers are Anthony Gardner ("TJ"), president; Stephanie Troutman, vice president; Ashley Norris, secretary; Monica Johnson, treasurer; and Ricky Walker, parliamentarian. The students are drafting chapter by-laws in anticipation of the chapter's officer installation ceremony, planned for January 2009. All AABE members will be invited to participate in this historic event.
