About Us

The AABE Louisiana Chapter is one of nine chapters in the Southwest Region of the organization. The Louisiana Chapter is headquartered in New Orleans. Two of our members currently hold positions on the AABE National Board of Directors. Past Board Member Dan Packer, retired CEO of Entergy-New Orleans, held the position of AABE National Chairman in the late nineties. The Chapter was proud to host the annual AABE National Conferences in 1985, 1998 and 2004.

Due to Hurricane Katrina, our chapter was pretty much disbanded with members scattered all over the country. Files were destroyed and some members have yet to return. Our chapter’s pre-Katrina membership averaged 45-50 members, while today we are at 17.  We are proud to say, the Louisiana Chapter is on a path to building itself back up and will soon regain its status as a strong and viable organization in this community.

We look to the webpage as a vehicle we can use to get the message out and thus attract new members who can help us grow and achieve this goal. As you navigate through the links, please view our mission, executive leadership, membership criteria, committees and general meeting schedule.
