The South Carolina BEAM Program adheres to the following major tasks and associated activities:
Administrative Tasks – Chairperson(s)
Solicit volunteers and form a committee
Schedule planning session for committee members and select project
Develop a detailed project plan to implement project
Prepare and submit annual budget to the Vice President - Services
Schedule and facilitate committee meetings as required
Reconcile project budget and hold lesson learned session at the end of the project to facilitate planning for the next year.
Committee Member Tasks
Coordinate annual BEAM (Black Energy Awareness Month) project
Hosts an externship day in April and October for high school students from surrounding areas. Chapter members share the technical aspects of their jobs and provide information on careers in the energy industry. Students participate in roundtable discussions and facility tours.
