"Black in Latin America" Series

February 22, 2013

The series will be shown in Lunch ’n Learn format, divided into four one-hour segments with a short guided discussion following each segment. The series’ kick-off episode will be shown in February in honor of Black History Month. It will continue through May, when we celebrate Cinco de Mayo (May 5), a cultural celebration that started in Mexico and has spread through Latin America and the United States as a symbol of the fight for freedom and democracy. In this unique way, we hope to connect the theme of the series and its cultural significance here in the United States.
