AABE Chicago Chapter Executive Committee
President – Marla Jarrett
Marla was named director, Customer Care Center for Nicor Gas in November 2016. Nicor Gas serves 2.2 million customers in Illinois and is a subsidiary of Southern Company. With over a decade in the energy sector, she has served in multiple roles with increased responsibilities within Customer Experience ranging from Credit & Collections to Billing, and most recently Customer Care Center also known as the Call Center. During this time, she has played key roles in many technology projects, day-to-day operations and implementation of process improvements which ultimately led to positive impacts to the bottom line.
She has been an active member of AABE Chicago since 2012 serving on the Executive Board as the chapter secretary and currently, the chapter president. In addition, she serves as team coordinator at Victory Cathedral Worship Center, where she is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, operation efforts and collaborations for the largest team of individuals within the ministry.
Jarrett is passionate about empowering youth and helping them to understand the importance of higher education and volunteers with college prep/mentorship programs within the community.
She earned her undergraduate degree in finance from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
Vice President – Diana Sharpe
Diana currently serves as ComEd’s Principal Regulatory Specialist in Regulatory Affairs. In this role, she works to keep the Illinois Commerce Commission informed of state of ComEd affairs. Prior to this, Diana was the Premier Customer Experience Manager, responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic, process, technical and functional organizational change to move ComEd into first quartile in customer satisfaction. She was responsible for the strategic direction of ComEd’s Customer Experience initiative and for driving cultural change throughout the company with a lens of focusing on customer needs.
Before taking on Premier Customer Experience, Diana was the Social Media Manager for ComEd. She was responsible for the development, implementation and daily management of the company’s social media strategy. Diana has more than 10 years of communications, public relations and journalism experience in the utility, non-profit and government industries. She has received several professional awards, including an Individual Excellence Award and the Excellence in Customer Service awards for her strategic development and execution of ComEd's social media department.
Diana is a licensed attorney in Illinois. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Northwestern University. She serves on the board of the Gethsemane Church Of God In Christ, Inc., and the Westside Cultural Foundation. She is the Vice President of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) Chicago chapter, and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, ComEd's Innovation Hub, and EEARA, Exelon's African-American resource group.
Treasurer –Lanita Greer
Lanita Greer is the Customer Experience Manager for ComEd. ComEd serves 4 million customers in the Illinois service territory. With 19 years of service in the public utility, she has served in multiple leadership roles within both Customer and Distribution Operations Organizations including the Meter Department and New Business management roles. In her current role, Greer is responsible for improving JD Power Scores from the field organization by increasing the overall customer experience during their day to day interactions.
She has been an active member of AABE Chicago since 2015 and currently serves on the Executive Board as the chapter treasurer. In addition, she serves as events director at New Bethel Fellowship, Northwest Indiana, where she is responsible for overseeing fellowship opportunities for the congregation.
Greer’s passion lies within mentorship where she encourages up and coming leaders to pursue their career aspirations no matter how difficult the task. She is also passionate about volunteering where her favorite event has been the Hustle Up the Hancock. Greer has been part of the Exelon Hustle Up the Hancock Team for seven years.
She earned an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Roosevelt Illinois University, Chicago.
Secretary – Heather Moore
Heather Moore is a Customer Service Manager at Peoples Gas. Peoples Gas delivers natural gas to about approximately 843,000 residential and business customers in the City of Chicago. With over 15 years of experience in the natural gas industry, Heather has served in multiple roles in Distribution Operations. In her current role, Heather is responsible for the Inside Safety Inspection program and other Customer premise inside work. She oversees a multi level organization of represented and non-presented employees.
For the last ten years, Heather has supported AABE in various capacities, more recently as the interim Secretary before being elected Secretary. Her other membership affiliations and positions held include: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall, Treasurer: Chatham Condo Association, Board Member: Peoples Energy Credit Union. Her hobbies include: Working with children on STEM related projects, event planning, traveling, and bowling.
Heather is a native of Chicago’s South Side Washington Heights neighborhood. Credentials include: Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University and Masters of Business Administration with concentration in Finance from Roosevelt University.
