Greetings from South Carolina!

The South Carolina Chapter of AABE (SCCAABE) has a long and proud history. The Chapter was established in October 1984 by twenty-four charter members. Josie K. Claiborne was elected the first president after her efforts to obtain the charter, and went on to serve in various roles, including on the National level. The chapter celebrated its 35th anniversary during the month of October 2019.

Our chapter superlatives include the following:

  • 3 Outstanding Chapter Awards
  • Southeast Regional Chapter Host Award 
  • Outstanding Volunteer Service Award Nominee by Richland County School District One 
  • Provided nearly $130,000 in Scholarship Awards to over 120 high school seniors
  • 2 Chapter members served as members of AABE National Board of Directors
  • Hosted the 11th and co-hosted the 32nd & 38th Annual AABE National Conference

The three aims of SCCAABE are:

  1. Educate our communities
  2. Promote STEM careers
  3. Empower energy professionals
