Legislative Issues and Public Policy Committee


This committee is charged with tracking legislative and public policy issues AABE may have an interest in and developing position papers on these issues to be presented to the AABE Board of Directors for approval. Through the development and dissemination of its position papers, the committee must ensure that African-Americans and other minorities have a voice in the development and implementation of U.S. energy/environmental polices.

2006 - 2012 Deliverables

  • Track all pending legislation or Federal rule-making AABE may have an interest in and report at each Board meeting.
  • Continue to take lead role in Congressional Black Caucus Annual Energy Braintrust in September.
  • Identify and produce Board development issues for its quarterly meetings.
  • Complete printing binding and dissemination of State of Energy in Black America report in 2009.
