On September 29, 2018, the Michigan Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) will host its First Annual Energy Ball.  The purpose of the event is to raise money for scholarships for students of color who are interested in entering STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), to honor those who have demonstrated leadership in energy-related fields, and to expand AABE’s presence within the communities we serve.

We invite you to partner with us as we fulfill this year’s theme: “Igniting the Flame.”  The Energy Ball. We are looking forward to our special guests joining us on September 29, 2018. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tony G. Reames, Professor at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor School for Environmental and Sustainability.

The event will be held at the Michigan Science Center, 5020 John R St, Detroit, MI.  A networking reception, including live entertainment, begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7:00 p.m.  We have special guests attending that includes: Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, the MPSC Commissioner Rachael Eubanks, and  AABE’s National President and CEO Paula Glover.
