The Houston Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (“AABE”) is hosting its annual scholarship luncheon on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Hilton Americas Downtown. This year’s theme is “Power of Energy: Winning Our Future through Education.” Please join us in recognizing these future leaders at this scholarship luncheon.
AABE is a national, nonprofit association of more than 1,700 energy professionals within 39 chapters in seven regions throughout the United States. Through its Scholarship Program, AABE seeks to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in energy related fields. By doing so, we help our nation address a critical need and a challenge to our economic vitality in the world market.
AABE will award need-based and merit-based scholarships in amounts yet to be determined. All applicants who apply for our scholarships must meet certain eligibility criteria as laid out in our application guidelines and must prove their enrollment in a four-year university pursuing a degree in an energy-related field.
Over the last few years, the Houston chapter of AABE has awarded more than $40k in scholarships to more than 25 deserving students who are currently pursuing degrees in energy related fields. AABE Houston desires to maintain its commitment in assisting Houston area students meet their much needed educational financial obligations through scholarships.
