Dear Members and Strategic Partners of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE),
It is with great humility and gratitude that I announce my appointment as the Interim President and CEO of AABE. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Board Chair Kevin Simmons and the entire Board of Directors for entrusting me with this important responsibility during this pivotal time for our organization.
For those who may not know me well, I dedicated over 30 years of service at Pepco/PHI before retiring in 2016. For over 10 years, I served in executive leadership roles, including Region President for Pepco and PHI Vice President of Human Resources & People Strategy. PHI was the largest Mid-Atlantic electric power distribution company serving over 2.1 million customers.
Currently, I am privileged to serve on several corporate and non-profit boards, including Summit Utilities, South Jersey Industries, Midwest Reliability Organization, Goodwill of Greater Washington and the University of Tampa Board of Trustees.
My longstanding relationship with AABE began in 1986, and over the years, I have been honored to serve in many capacities—ranging from Interim Chapter President of AABE DC to conference speaker and moderator, and most recently, as an Emeritus Board Member.
Over the coming months, my focus will be on strengthening our membership engagement, executing key elements of our strategic plan, and delivering a series of impactful events—including another dynamic Energy Policy Symposium and our highly anticipated Annual Conference in New Orleans!
I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to working with each of you to advance our mission of providing direct input into the deliberations and developments of energy policies, regulations, emerging technologies, and environmental issues.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly at AABEpresidentandceo@aabe.org and/or LinkedIn with any questions, ideas, or simply to connect.
Thank you once again for your support and commitment to AABE. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful impact.
With gratitude and respect,
Thomas H. Graham
