Informative Discussion With Mr. William Bennett

The Virginia Chapter of AABE conducted its third quarter General Body meeting on October 25, 2012 at the Williams Mullen building at 200 South 10th Street, Richmond, Virginia.  The guest speaker, Mr. William Bennett, Senior Advisor – Office of Administrative Litigation, who did not speak in an official capacity, shared his reflections on the following topics:

  • Overview of FERC
  • The Smart Grid and Cyber Security
  • Demand Response
  • Reliability of the Bulk Power System
  • Shale and Liquefied Natural Gas
  • FERC Order 888 (deregulation by unbundling electricity)
  • Technical Conferences (five in August on gas lines coordinating with electric utilities)
  • Careers at FERC

Mr. Bennett’s remarks were followed by Q&A with the audience. The meeting was educational and informative.
