Media Alert: AABE Atlanta Launches Microsite Celebrating 13th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

Who

The Atlanta Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) launched a microsite for its annual scholarship golf tournament. The site is available today at http://jkdavisgolftournament.weebly.com/. This hallmark event is in its 13th year and provides funds for metro Atlanta area students who plan to major in business and/or the STEM disciplines and whose educational pursuits will lead to a career in the energy industry.

What

The new website celebrates the more than $500 million dollars in scholarships that have been awarded to dozens of students over the years. Last year, AABE Atlanta awarded 38 metro Atlanta students with scholarships to further their education. Students who excelled in math, science and physical science were presented with awards totaling more than $35,000.

Where

The public is invited to attend the scholarship tournament, which will take place on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Flat Creek Country Club located at 100 Flat Creek Rd. in Peachtree City, Ga. AABE Atlanta members may sign up onlineto volunteer.

The James K. Davis Scholarship is named for one of the founders of the AABE Atlanta Chapter.
