AABE-VA @ Dominion Energy's Surry Power Station (BEAM)

John F. Kennedy Middle School - Surry, VA

Tonya Byrd and Alexander Stanley hosted 70 sixth grade students at Surry Power Station on October 31st. At the Learning Center, student got to hear about the advantages and/or challenges of the top nine U.S. energy sources, powering the grid from a nuclear generation standpoint, carbon footprint, and controls for environment protection.  The students also toured the Training Center, where Carol Elmore introduced STEM careers within  Dominion’s Nuclear group, both in specialized trade and/or power engineering.
